As principal of TWDA, I would like to welcome you and hope you enjoy having a look around our website. I started dancing at the age of three with the Maureen Smith School of dancing and couldn't get enough of it. I was soon entering exams and festivals and loving every minute. Whilst at school I was asked to choreograph for their Rock Opera and I was awarded the Barclay Youth Award for outstanding work. With this in tow I soon discovered there was a whole world out there and I got my first job in Mexico, dancing in a circus, from there I did lots of cabaret work and then I was asked to work with Warner Entertainments as Assistant Entertainment Manager, working with some amazing acts. After four years with Warner I decided I wanted to concentrate on my dancing and more so teaching. So I trained for my teaching qualifications, whilst doing so I was asked to choreograph a musical, which lead to another and another! I am currentlly the choreographer for Little Wolf Entertainments Professional Pantomine @ The Core Theatre , this year will be Robin Hood and Choreographer for St.Augustines Musical Theatre group working on The Producers.I absolutely love Musical Theatre and anyone who knows me, knows my passion and hopefully this passes on to the children.
While still training, my former dance teacher wanted to retire and offered me her dance school, I jumped at it! The school has gone from strength to strength and I believe it is because we give everyone a fair chance
Unlike some schools we encourage and nurture our students to become more rounded people and to be proud of who they are.
We offer classes in Ballet, Tap,Modern,Gymnastic dance, Freestyle, Musical Theatre, Lyrical and Private Lessons. We are a friendly hard working team and strive to make everyone feel welcome.
